A note from the IMGS chair
July 2025
From IMGS Chair Roopa Naik, MD
I’m honored to serve as your IMGS chair this year. For those I haven’t yet had the pleasure of meeting, I’m an internal medicine-trained hospitalist based at an academic medical center in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
In my role, I’m deeply involved in both undergraduate and graduate medical education. I serve as a faculty member for the school of medicine and as core faculty for our internal medicine residency program, where I remain actively engaged in direct patient care.
July beginnings
July marks a season of transition and excitement in academic medicine. It’s a time of new beginnings, especially for those stepping into residencies, fellowships or clinical rotations. I extend my heartfelt congratulations to each of you taking the next step.
To our international medical graduates beginning residency, this chapter is both exciting and demanding. Adapting to new systems, expectations and environments can feel overwhelming, but know that you are not alone. Rely on your peers, seek out mentors and never hesitate to ask for support.
